Plant Pots FAQs

To repot a plant into a new pot:

1. Choose the right time, ideally during its active growth phase in spring or early summer.
2. Select a clean pot with drainage holes, slightly larger than the current pot.
3. Water the plant a day or two before repotting to reduce stress.
4. Gently remove the plant from the old pot, loosening the root ball if it's root-bound.
5. Inspect the roots and untangle them if necessary.
6. Place a layer of fresh potting mix in the new pot.
7. Position the plant at the same depth it was in the old pot, ensuring stability.
8. Fill the pot with potting mix, pressing down to remove air pockets.
9. Water the plant thoroughly to settle the soil and hydrate the roots.
10. Trim damaged roots and clean the plant's foliage.
11. Find an appropriate location for the plant based on its light and temperature requirements.
12. Monitor the plant's adjustment to its new pot and avoid overwatering.
