To repot a plant into a new pot:
- Choose the right time, ideally during its active growth phase in spring or early summer.
- Select a clean pot with drainage holes, slightly larger than the current pot.
- Water the plant a day or two before repotting to reduce stress.
- Gently remove the plant from the old pot, loosening the root ball if it's root-bound.
- Inspect the roots and untangle them if necessary.
- Place a layer of fresh potting mix in the new pot.
- Position the plant at the same depth it was in the old pot, ensuring stability.
- Fill the pot with potting mix, pressing down to remove air pockets.
- Water the plant thoroughly to settle the soil and hydrate the roots.
- Trim damaged roots and clean the plant's foliage.
- Find an appropriate location for the plant based on its light and temperature requirements.
- Monitor the plant's adjustment to its new pot and avoid overwatering.
